After a baby is born, your wanderlust seems to go into sleep mode. Suddenly, all you want to do is go home with your new baby and not go anywhere else. Your new-born needs all your attention and several feeds, even at odd hours. So going on holiday, or even travelling long distances, is a nightmare as you feel exhausted most of the time.

But enjoyable travelling with your baby is possible and can be summed up in two words – stay prepared. To make your trip less frenetic and more peaceful (we’re sure you don’t want more adventure in your life at this point of time), we have gathered together a list of tips that’ll help you and baby travel, whichever mode of transport you use.

Flying with your baby? Tips for a stress-free journey:

  1. A bassinet to your rescue.

Book a seat that has a bassinet connection. These seats are usually the first ones in the Class you are flying.

2. Ease the ear pressure.

Plan baby feedings for take-offs and landings since these are the times when your baby will experience the highest ear pressure. Swallowing can relieve his or her discomfort.

3.Asking help is an act of strength, not weakness.

Airlines are used to accommodating families travelling with infants. So if your baby won’t consume cold milk, it’s perfectly all right to ask the flight attendant to warm up some milk for you.

4. A front carrier will carry all your load.

Front carrier for airports. Infant seatbelt for planes.

At the airport, a front carrier or baby sling is the perfect way to transport your baby. Once she’s in the plane, an infant seatbelt will make her feel safe and sound.

5. A breast pump can be very useful.

A convenient way to feed your baby while flying (and even while travelling by road or rail) is a breast pump https://www.morisonsbabydreams.com/comfort-feed-electric-breast-pump.html
The moment your baby starts to holler, you can ease his nerves with the ultimate cure-all: mother’s milk.

Travelling by road or rail with your little one? Tips to make it less bumpy and more memorable:

6. Get hands-free. Get more mobile.

and baby slings help keep your hands free, so you can look for tickets, find money for fares, and lug your bags – all while you holding your baby snugly. This also makes your baby feels safe.

7.Short trips please (6 hours or less!)

Sitting for a long period of time isn’t just harmful for adults; it isn’t very healthy for babies either. So, plan a trip where you can take breaks every 6 hours and walk around in well-lit rest stops and stations, restaurants and malls along your route.

8. By her side. Always.

Parents are a baby’s comfort zone. So if your husband is driving the car, ensure that you sit in the backseat with your child. This way, she will feel safe and secure and not get too cranky.

9. Drive your baby to distraction.

Sing songs, make faces, tell stories, play games… the key is to keep your baby interested. Keep soft music handy; it will make your baby calm and peaceful. And do remember this: Babies love holidays even though they might not say so in as many words.

At the end of the day, whether you travel by plane, train, or automobile, the idea is to be sure you are prepared. Plan well, pack well, and schedule well.

Bon Voyage. See you soon.
